About PDF Ad Cleaner

PDF Ad Cleaner (gulag-cleaner.online) is an independent website that offers a free in-browser PDF page cleaner and written guides for people who want cleaner study PDFs. It was created to help students remove ad pages and covers from documents they have downloaded, without uploading those files to a server.

Not The Official Gulag Cleaner

This site is not the official Gulag Cleaner project and is not affiliated with it. Gulag Cleaner is a separate open-source project; you can find it on GitHub and at gulagcleaner.com. We refer to it because many readers search for it and we think it is useful to explain how its approach differs from ours.

How Our Tool Works

The tool lets you preview pages, remove the ones you choose, trim margins and download a new PDF. It is built on the open-source libraries pdf-lib (MIT) and PDF.js (Apache-2.0), which are hosted on this site. Your PDF is processed in your browser. Read the privacy policy for details.

Guides are written to be accurate and cautious. We describe what a method can and cannot do, avoid promising results we cannot guarantee, and link to primary sources. If you find an error, tell us.
